Friendship Makes Life Beautiful....................!

Mahesh Bhatt writes letter to PM

THIS PLOT SICKENS: Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt alleges investigators unfair to his family.Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt has written a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, expressing his “deep anguish” at the controversy over investigators questioning his son for his alleged friendship with terror suspect David Coleman Headley.

"In the letter, I have expressed my deep anguish over the manner in which the investigation was handled after my son Rahul voluntarily shared information with the police," Bhatt told PTI on Thursday.

"I have narrated the chain of events I and my family had to go through after my son did what was expected of him as a responsible Indian citizen," he said.

"We woke up to a sense of great betrayal and irreversible damage. The Prime Minister should intervene and set the right example by condemning whatever happened. Otherwise such events would discourage any citizen from participating in the fight against the menace," he said.

Bhatt alleged right wing groups had stopped screening of his movie Tum Mile in Gujarat because they were emboldened by investigating agencies leaking selective information which was used by the media to project his son "in a wrong way".

Bhatt said he had not asked for any security but reported to Mumbai police about the level of threat he, his office and his movie faced.

Headley, 49, is under arrest in the USA for allegedly being a supporter of the Lashkar-e-Toiba, the terrorist group blamed for the Mumbai terror attacks. The FBI has charged Headley with conspiring to commit terrorist acts outside the US and supporting terrorism overseas.

Headley’s associate Tahawwur Hussain Rana, who is also under, has been accused of providing material support to a terrorist conspiracy.
